Jesus is Born

Introduction:
Two thousand years ago in a city called Nazareth, there lived a woman called Mary.
One day she met Joseph and they were in loved, so then they both got married. While Mary was sitting on her bed, a angel appeared his name was Gabriel, he came to give Mary good news. She was stunned when the angel told her that god has chosen Mary to be the mother of his son. Mary came across Joseph and told him the shocked news about Mary having a baby. Another night Joseph was sleeping in bed, Gabriel appeared again and told Joseph to take good care of Mary because she will be having a baby. That night the angel vanished, when Joseph woke up he had a dream about Mary having a baby.

King Caesar told everybody to travel to Bethlehem, so then Mary and Joseph settled on an adventure to Bethlehem. When they got to Bethlehem they went to the innkeeper and asked him if they could stay with him, but then the man said sorry he can’t allow them to stay at his house. Joseph said that his wife Mary was going to have a baby, The man stopped and think for a while he said to the couples that they can stay in the stable. Mary and Joseph was so happy even when it had animals they were very lucky to get a home for themselves and for their child.

Three angels appeared from the sky and said to all of the shepherds to go to the stable and visit Jesus, the shepherds quickly tried to find Jesus until they found the baby. Mary and Joseph was so shocked about how many people was with them and with the baby. Three wise men saw a big star, they went and opened their books to see what was the sign and they said that there will be a new king that will be born. The three wise men searched everywhere for the newborn king, until they found the baby. The three wise men gave Mary and Joseph presents like Golds,Frankincense,Myrrh. That is the true story about the very first Christmas, god had sent his son Jesus to earth.

Key Competencies Explanation.

Key Competencies

Introduction:
Have you ever heard of the key competencies? Thinking, managing self, participating and contributing, relating to others, using language symbols and texts? If you have, then I bet you are a super learner! However, if you haven’t, well I am here to explain exactly what they are.

Managing Self:
For Example when you are not making the right choices, you can use your brain to manage yourself.
Always manage yourself so then you can get a good report. If you can manage yourself at school, then I am sure that you will get a job when you grow up.

Thinking:
You use your brain to think about what you say to other people. You have to use your brain so then you can think about what you’re actions to other people.

Sometimes in your life people might hurt you feelings, thats why we come to school so then we can make other people happy. Sometimes when you are a adult then you might hurt their feelings.

Relating to others:
For example relating to others means you are being kind and listening to other people when they have something to say. Relating to others is the same as Helping each other

Cybersmart Explanation

Use my brain use my heart I’m going to be cyber smart.

Use my brain use my heart I’m going to be cybersmart! Have you ever heard about this phrase before. At Pt England School we use this korero everyday. This Korero helps us learn to be successful learners.

Use my brain
You need to always use your brain whenever you are online. The only time we can go online is when we need to know more information for what you're learning about. If you use your brain properly then you are cybersmart.

Use my heart
Your heart helps your brain make the right decisions, if you didn’t have your heart then you won’t think the right way. Sometimes people are angry with the other person but that does not mean that you can go and send them a angry email.

Cybersmart
Whenever your friends goes onto the wrong site and they tell you to go on, you will have to make your decision to go on the website or remind your friend that the website they are on is not good for them. For example if you get a doggy email you always have to follow these steps.

1.Take a screenshot

2.Send the doggy email that you got, send the doggy email to the teacher or Mr Burt.

3. The last step you will have to do is delete the doggy email that you got.

4.The last step is that you are now a cybersmart person, because you did the right thing.

What is Culture

What is Culture?

Culture’s are what makes countries unique, Each country has different culture activities and cultural rituals. Culture is seen in people’s writing, religion, music, codes, cooking and in what they do, Culture also includes the way people understand the world and their own lives.
Different Countries have different cultures. For example, some older Japanese people wear Kimonos arranging flowers and have tea Ceremonies

My Family is from Rarotonga and Aitutaki.,In my culture we like to eat Rukau,Fish,Octopus,Meat. The Cook Islands was named after Captain James Hook, who landed in the Cook Islands in 1773. Some Cook Island people likes to wear flowers inside there hair. In Rarotonga we cook our food in different ways, Sometimes we use a rock and then we put some fish inside a pan and then we wrap our fish into some foil and we wait for our fish to get cooked, Whenever people goes to the market then there is always a dance to share our culture to the world.

Sometimes when we go to the beach then some of us can go and lie down on a towel so then we can get tanned. The temperature in Rarotonga is very hot and some people might even want to faint thats why we always give out water to the people that we don’t know at all. Whenever we have a birthday celebrate then we always dance for some ones birthday.

Sometimes when it is a game then every game are played at a stadium.

The aim of the game is to score more points than the other team, Each team is given six tackles or chances to score, After six tackles then the ball will be handed to the other team. The other team get’s the chance to score with their six tackles. Rugby league is slightly more complicated than this, But if you can get your head around this Then you’ll have a greater understanding of the game.

The Equipment that you will need is a ball, mouth guard, boots, shorts, skull cap and body protection. Rugby League is played outdoors because you will have to kick the ball around, Some other games are played at other places around the world.

Whenever the other team has to go to the country where the Team in NZ is just to challenge them. Rugby League is played by two teams of 15 players, Although the aim of the game is simple, there are many laws which can make it hard for the new viewer to keep track of what is going on.  The rules for rugby league is the knock on and forward pass, the penalty and no delay.

What is Buoyancy?

What is Buoyancy?

A Long time ago in Syracuse, Ancient Greece There was a  Great mathematician named Archimedes. One day when he was taking a bath He discovered something life changing. When he got in some water got displaced and it overflowed over the bath tub.

Archimedes's discovery got him thinking he was so excited that he ran through the streets without any clothes on shouting “Eureka Eureka! this meant I have found it in Greek.

Archimedes figured out if you put something in water and it is lighter than the amount of water being displaced, the object will float.

This is known as buoyancy or the Archimedes  principle, so if the object can float it is buoyant.
